Consumer Protection

Abusive business practices including predatory lending are rampant these days and sometimes the unsuspecting victims, who are the consumers themselves, feel that they have no away of holding the sellers of goods and services accountable.

The Consumer Protection Act (1976 PA 331) in Michigan gives consumers the power to fight deceptive business dealings because it prohibits unfair and deceptive trade practices in the state.

Safeguarding buyers of goods and services, and the public, against unfair practices in the marketplace is important to the overall health of our economy. Consumer protection measures are intended to prevent businesses from engaging in fraud or specified unfair practices in order to gain an advantage over competitors or to mislead consumers.

Businesses have a duty to uphold quality of products and services, refrain from unfair, unsafe, and discriminatory practices against consumers and community they serve. Patterson Justice Counsel will hold these entities accountable on your behalf.

Don’t rush into sensitive and consequential legal decisions without full and appropriate legal advice and backing. Make an appointment with Patterson Justice Counsel and Attorney Tina M. Patterson for your consultation today.

Attorney Patterson was very insightful and full of good advice and guidance. She patiently listened as I explained lengthy details (unlike several other attorneys I spoke with previous to my call to her). She advised me of the laws pertaining to my cases.
